PLC Alsteka (UAB “Alsteka”) participated in the first international beer contest “Baltic beer star 2015”, which was held by the Baltic states.

The contest took place in Riga, the capital of Latvia, on 19-23 of October, 2015. The contest was organized by the fellowship of beer, drinks of malt and kvass “Beer fellowship” („Alus braliba“) in cooperation with the Union and Association of Latvia’s‘ Brewers. The object of the contest was to promote the manufacture of quality and safe products in the Baltic states, to improve its supply to the consumers and to increase the competitiveness of the products in the market of Baltic and European countries. The products were evaluated by the method of open tasting in the three types of beer groups (Lager, Ail and non-traditional technologies).

PLC Alsteka (UAB “Alsteka“) submitted four types of beer for the contest: “The honey-beer of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio medaus alus“), “The non-filtered beer of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio nefiltruotas alus“), “The dark beer of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio tamsusis alus“) and “The porter of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio porteris“). On 30 October, 2015 the winners of the international Baltic countries beer contest “Baltic beer star 2015” were announced and awarded. From Riga we came back with four medals. “The honey-beer of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio medaus alus“) and “The dark-one beer of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio tamsusis alus“) were appraised with silver medals and a diploma, while “The porter of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio porteris“) and “The non-filtered beer of Old Pasvalys” („Senojo Pasvalio nefiltruotas alus“) – with bronze medals and a diploma.
